About
An excellent film noir thriller directed by and starring Orson Welles, The Stranger is the story of an ex-nazi (Welles) living under a false identity in a bucolic Connecticut community. Now a respected high school teacher who is about to wed the daughter of a U.S. Supreme Court justice, his secret is suddenly put at great risk when a war crimes investigator (Edward G. Robinson) comes to town. Swiftly moving and suspenseful.
Historical Note
Welles is, of course, best known as the director and star of Citizen Kane (1941), long considered one of the greatest films of all time.
