Classic Movies - Nothing Sacred

About

In this classic comedy, Carole Lombard plays a young woman who becomes a media celebrity when she is terminally diagnosed as having radium poisoning—only to learn it was a mis-diagnosis and that she is perfectly healthy. Her celebrity status thus threatened, she goes to extreme lengths to keep her secret from an investigative reporter (Frederic March). A satirical take on fame, misinformation, and the public’s appetite for tragedy. Historical Note This is Lombard’s only Technicolor film. She was the queen of screwball comedy in the 1930s, but died in a plane crash in 1942 at the age of 33.
