About

Buster Keaton had a genius for visual comedy that rivals (if not exceeds) that of Charlie Chaplin. In Sherlock Jr. Keaton plays a movie theatre projectionist who dreams of being a world-famous detective. Keaton—the only actor in movie history who completely did his own stunts—creates a striking array of visual gags through a combination of physical agility and ingenious practical effects. Historical Note When the stuntman hired to double for one of Keaton’s co-stars in a motorcycle scene refused to do the stunt because it was too dangerous, Keaton himself changed into the actor’s costume and did the stunt for him.
